Crispy Seafood

Quickly! Go dress up in a little black dress because this restaurant I am going to recommend is worth glamming up for. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel recruits numerous of international level cook, therefore their food is definitely high quality. Once you walk into the restaurant, the large glass window facing the waters immediately caught my attention. Luckily, we went on a beautiful day, because my mood is uplifted when I see the blue sky.

RECOMMENDATION

Crispy Seafood

Seafood including squid, scallop and prawn, is all fresh. A thin layer of crispy crisp along with the saffron aioli, everything is just right and not too greasy.

Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio

Some people are scared of trying raw beef yet they always wanted to take the first step. For those, you can try the entry level dish Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio. The thinness texture makes it easier for beginners to try. Tender raw beef with Parmesan cheese and pickled mushroom as well as rocket leaves made this dish fresh with a sprinkle of meaty grease.

Burrata (vegetarian)

This dish uses burrata which is a lighter kind of cheese. The gentle flavour of cheese with the chewer texture, along with the fresh sweet Heirloom tomatoes and Portuguese olive, this is making my appetite ready for the main course. Such a dainty and fresh appetiser.

Beef Wellington

This time, the main character arrives — Beef Wellington— has appeared. This dish is known to be complicated because the chef has to maintain a balance between the puff pastry and keep the meat inside cooked but not overdone. Therefore, when the chef was slicing it up, I was already extremely excited. There are three layers of ingredients, so the texture is abundance. The chef manage to make around medium rare so the meat’s juiciness still stays. This is definitely a must order at Vida Rica.

Homemade Tagliatelle Lobster

Having an Italian chef means pasta is inevitable at this meal. This time we ordered a Homemade Tagliatelle Lobster. A large piece of lobster claw meat on the pasta dish. The sauce also has lobster flavour, just looking at the dish makes me drool.

Apple and Cream Cheese

Once we are done with the salty dish, it is time for dessert. Looking at the menu alone already makes me dizzy because of its long list of options. I greedily ordered four desserts and the one that got my heart is their Apple and Cream Cheese. Choosing apple makes the overall experience more fresh, and the signature Chocolate Fondant with Caramel Peanut Butter and Vanilla Napoleon is the best for after meal.
