Scallops Ceviche with Beetroot, Corn, Avocado & Strawberries

When visiting Macau, besides trying our Portuguese cuisine, our Spanish restaurants are also surprisingly good. “Barcelona” in Taipa Village has a pink European exterior design. The restaurant has three floors and a rooftop bar for their guests to enjoy their food while catching a sight of the beautiful foreign-like Taipa Village.

RECOMMENDATION

Scallops Ceviche with Beetroot, Corn, Avocado & Strawberries

The pink beetroot foam accompanied with fresh scallop lead to a feast for the eyes and for the mouth. The dish also comes with a corn, strawberry and avocado sauce, which makes it the perfect appetizer.

Classic Suckling Pig Terrine

Different from other suckling pig, this dish is boneless and fatless. The dish comes with a mashed apple and some dried cranberries to get rid of the greasiness of the suckling pig terrine. I don’t see a reason why anyone would say no to this dish.

Tender Octopus with Mashed Potato

I always think that it is hard to master the texture of octopus, yet this dish surely surprised me. As I took my first bite of octopus, I was amazed by the perfect balance between the chewiness and the tenderness of the texture. I recommend eating it with some mashed potatoes sand bell pepper for a more flavourful experience!

Spanish Iberian Ham, cheese & truffle toasted sandwich

How can you call it a Spanish meal without the famous Spanish Iberian Ham? I always thought that honeydew melon and Iberian Ham were the perfect match but now I know Iberian Ham also goes well with cheese and truffle. The crunchy toast and evil filling – every bite tastes so heavenly.

Traditional Paella

It goes without saying that Paella is a must order at a Spanish restaurant. A full plate covered with jumbo shrimps, small squid slices and Iberian Ham. The rice is cooked with a shrimp broth, so it is guaranteed that every bite you take a seafood flavour. The combination makes putting down the spoon impossible!

Barcelona Cheesecake

Last but not the least, the Barcelona Cheesecake. What a note to end on!

When coming with friends, it is inevitable to order a drink or two. My personal favourite is the Bubble Bath Cocktail. Its sweetness and a hint of sourness makes it a perfect drink for ladies.
