永興小食
Taiwanese Onigiri

The ideal diner for students at Sao Lazaro, where you can enjoy the simple taste of old school cuisine.

The happiest moment when I was a student was to go get afternoon tea snacks after school. All these snack shops become part of our memories. Today, we are here to try this famous and popular snack store in the Sao Lazaro area, “永興小食”

This store is run by an old couple, everything is homemade freshly every day. Sometimes when the students forget to bring money, grandma would bring out the snacks first and just mark the price down on a piece of paper. They have great relationship with the students around. I heard that their rent just went up and might move to a new location soon. But I am sure everyone is still going to support them no matter where they move!

RECOMMENDATION

Taiwanese Onigiri – It’s the same as it is in the picture, the onigiri is stuffed full with eggs, veges, pork floss and fried dough. Easy to eat with a great old school taste.

Signature Taiwanese Lo Mein – A simple and easy rice noodles, Toppings include sour veges, peanuts, peas and pork chop. It’s so delicious and cheap that many students would order it to go.

Taiwanese Fried Chicken – Who doesn’t love friend chicken!? Nicely fried with some salty and pepper sprinkled on top. YUMMY
